What are you driven to accomplish above all else? For Marlène Hutchinson, actively contributing to environmental conservation has always been her deepest aspiration. Soon after obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a Master of Science degree in environmental studies, Marlène worked for several organizations and companies, motivated by what she felt was her calling: Changing the world.
Over the years, her desire to make a difference only grew stronger. She dreamed of a company in which she would have the opportunity to make more concrete changes and support those who, like her, want to do more to protect the environment. Then one day, she went for it. In the summer of 2005, she created her own consulting firm: Cycle Environment.
Cycle Environment is dedicated to helping everyone reach their environmental goals. Its activities are focused mainly on residual materials management (RMM):
The firm puts its expertise at the service of various organizations and programs, like Éconologis, which aims to make low-cost housing more energy-efficient, as well as warmer and more comfortable for the occupants. Cycle Environment also advises schools to encourage active transportation by promoting walking as a way to get to school. Furthermore, the firm helps a pharmaceutical company optimize its eco-fee reporting.
In 2007, wanting to raise people’s awareness about what they can do to protect the environment, Marlène publishes a first book: Vos déchets et vous.
Cycle Environment obtains its Women's Business Enterprise certification from WeConnect International, an organization that certifies 100% woman-owned businesses. This is a major milestone for the firm, which officially identifies as a diverse company.
Cycle Environment is growing quickly and continuing to help businesses optimize their eco-fee reporting. Its president receives the prestigious Distinction award – residual materials sector from Réseau Environnement.
Cycle environment is rapidly evolving and continues to operate in order to help companies optimize their eco-fee declarations. In fact, the Cycle environment is particpating in a trade mission to the United States to export its services! For her role the President receives the prestigious Distinctions award - residual materials sector awarded by Réseau Environnement.
As Cycle Environment continues its rapid expansion, president and founder Marlène Hutchinson is named one of the 100 women entrepreneurs who are changing the world. Thanks to the unique Steward6 tool and the many sustainable development measures implemented in the company, Marlène is finally seeing her dream come true. Given her journey, she believes there is great truth in the words of Oscar Wilde: "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars."
Big announcement coming!
